6th September -- Hayfield, Peak District
A good walking day based in Hayfield, the village where the historic 1932 Kinder Mass Trespass started and ended.

The 'C' group walked from New Mills a couple of miles west of Hayfield ..
starting along the Peak Forest Canal featuring its Giant Hogweed and (later) its Hog,
Looking back to New Mills
The Hog..
Buxworth Basin and The Navigation Inn (previously owned by Elsie Tanner of Coronation St fame).
This was a good point to have the morning coffee break and other beverages Upon leaving to continue our strenuous journey we collected a addition to the group. Bob acquired a field mouse, callously abandoned on a wall, and carefully carried it for the rest of the walk in his hand to keep it warm.
Moving on, we walked up on to the moor top
and had lunch ..mouse included
views over to Kinder, then descending via Far Phoside and its Attack Frog ,
and back to Heyfield and the George Hotel.
Latest on Bob's mouse is that it had doubled in size and was released into the wild.

The A walk climbed from Hayfield to Edale Cross, then along the ridge to Kinder Downfall and returned to Hayfield via William Clough, Kinder Reservoir and the Snake Path.

The B+ group followed a historic circular walk up to the Pennine way and Kinder Scout. An initial climb on the Snake Path passing Kinder Reservoir, followed by more climbing through William Clough then on the Pennine way leading to 1km south of Kinder Downfall where a steady downhill path leads back into Hayfield. Roger grabbed a few pics along the way..
